    Lockett Nelson
    Associate Veterinarian (Starting June 1!)

    Dr. Lockett Nelson is originally from the Gulf Coast of Alabama. She graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston in 2016 and received her DVM degree from Auburn University. She recently moved to Harrisonburg with her fiance and their 2 dogs. Her special interests include surgery and ultrasound. In her free time, she enjoys going for walks with her dogs, cooking, and spending time on the nearest body of water.

    Maureen Ostlund Ward
    Owner, Veterinarian
    Dr. Maureen Ostlund Ward is a native of the valley, having grown up in Harrisonburg. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005, and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Ward practiced in Richmond, Virginia for two years prior to re-locating to her home town and joining Harrisonburg Animal Hospital. Dr. Ward is excited about the opportunity to serve all of her clients and patients. Dr. Ward lives in Singers Glen with her husband and 3 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and their flock of chickens and ducks. In her time away from the hospital, Dr. Ward enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with friends and family.

    Katie S. Cash
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Cash graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Horticulture in 2005 and received her DVM from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in

    2010. Her interests include dentistry, ultrasound and internal medicine. She currently resides in Mount Sidney with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, two ponies and cat. In her down time she enjoys spending time with family and is active in the March of Dimes charity. Dr. Cash is also active in the local Blue Ridge Veterinary Medicine Association and has served as Treasurer for the past 2 years.
