Getting to know the HAH Family!

For our next round of "Getting to know the HAH Family," we interviewed Morgan, who is one of our awesome client service representatives.

How long have you worked at Harrisonburg Animal Hospital?

Almost a year and a half.

What are some of your favorite things you have done at Harrisonburg Animal Hospital?

I think helping clients with their pets and I like watching surgeries.

We always tell people here that we treat their pets like family.  What role do you think you play in that?

We are the first people that clients see when they walk in the door.  We show clients that we care about their pets by doing things like petting their pets when they come in, showing concern if their pet is sick, and really listening to them.

What is the hardest part of your job?

Working with people who decide to euthanize their pet is hard.  The other thing is if they just find out in their appointment that their pet is very sick.

What advice would you give to a new pet owner in terms of choosing a veterinary clinic and what’s important for their pet’s care?

It’s good to have a good relationship with your vet and their staff.  You should ask lots of questions!

Are you a cat or a dog person?

Totally a cat person!  I like dogs, but cats fit my lifestyle better.

How many cats do you have?  Three right?

Well I kind of have four, but one lives with my mom.

What are some of your favorite things to do in the valley?

I like hiking and camping, although I don’t have time to do it much anymore.  I really like Skyline Drive.

What are some places that people should check out if they are new to the area?

I mean, I don’t know.  The Antique Mall in Verona!  Don’t write that…  I mean I totally love Shenandoah National Park.  If you live here and you haven’t been there, you should go.  Or you can just drive to a mountain, get out, and walk around.  I got lost the other day driving around and ended up at Orkney Springs.

We here at Harrisonburg Animal Hospital know you love Pyrex.  How many pieces do you have?

Ummm…(long pause) probably between 130-140.  I haven’t counted recently, but I just bought a new bowl set and refrigerator dishes.

Refrigerator dishes?

Yeah!  They’re called Fridgies.

What is the furthest you have traveled for Pyrex?

Not very far really.  If I am somewhere and there’s a thrift store, I’m going and looking for Pyrex.  I mean I have a piece from Delaware.  I’ve also been given pieces from Texas and Tennessee.

What’s your favorite piece?

It’s a 2 ½ quart oval casserole dish (045).  I’s cream-colored and has golden hearts on it.  I also love my trailing flowers Bake N’ Carry” set.
